SaraS_Colors and Shades

all dried up with no where to go: This color is a nail polish, I painted my toes this color the other day

Purple People Eaters were invented by this purple: This purple was on a bag in a magazine and I liked both the bag and the color.

Richer than Bill Gates chocolate: I absolutely adore chocolate. Anything and Everything. Thus it is a color that touched me when I came upon it.

A Day Late and a Petal Short: This is a dried petal from a flower that a friend brought for me last week.

Does Betsy Johnson come in Pink? : The color did not show up will in the camera, but it is a hot pink and it made me think of the fashion designer.

A Tiffany's box left in the rain: The blue is a slightly lighter hue than the beloved jeweler's signature blue boxes...so the rain must have transformed it.

Yellow Rose on Day 2: My dad always calls me "The Yellow Rose of Texas" because I was born in Texas, thus the color reminded me of yellow roses.

Minnie Mouse Red Shoes: I loved Minnie when I was a child, thus her shoe color is always recognizable.

Second Coat of Pink: It reminded me of when I get my nails done for any big occasion like Prom or a wedding, the person always, always, always does a second coat.

Pink Oyster: The color of my room at home.

My attempts to recreate colors:

a day late and a petal short: not too bad. probably the most accurate

pink oyster: terrible. Getting the hue right was very difficult with a limited number of colored pencils.

a tiffany's box left in the rain: I think this color is the most accurate of the three I tried to recreate.

Thanks, Sara
